- Description:
Audio Devices was a quality American brand of reel to reel tapes in the 1950s through the 1970s. Their tapes were often used for professional recordings in the 1950s and 1960s and had a great reputation. In 1972 they were purchased by Capitol Records. “The Music Tape” was a high quality professional back-coated tape introduced in the mid 1970s. Notes:
- This is a formula that has withstood the test of time. This formula was produced before the onset of “sticky shed” syndrome, and can be used reliably today
- The tape can be recognized by its highly polished light brown oxide coating with what can be described as color crystallization on the surface. the tape also has a low oxide shedding.
- This tape was only offered in LP and SP versions, and a professional version was offered under the Audiotape brand.
- The performance of this formula is high as is the durability. By this time Audio Devices had over 20 years to perfect their formulas and the quality shows here. You cannot go wrong with this tape for your older machine. The performance of this tape is similar to Scotch’s 207.
- Available Refurbished: Yes, we offer this tape in LP and SP thicknesses.
