Soundcraft tapes were very popular in the 1960s, and their performance was similar to the Scotch 111 and 150, and the other standard tapes available at the time. They were available in SP (plus) , LP (plus 50) and DP (Plus 100) thicknesses. This was a very popular tape back in the day, so they are often found in garage or estate sales. The “Plus” Series is actually closer to Ampex’s 641, with a well polished oxidecoating and low shedding. Reeves was purchased by Columbia Records in 1969/1970 and later Columbia released their own tapes based on the Soundcraft formulas. Notes:
